Piper’s Dedication

We recently dedicated Piper to the Lord.  There are alot of different beliefs surrounding dedication vs. baptism.  We dedicated her- meaning we thank God for her and realize that although she is our earthly child she is ultimately His child.  We picked Deuteronomy 6:5-7 as the passage- “Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.  These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. “  That is our goal- to teach Piper to love God by modeling that in our home and talking about Him with her day to day.  Our wonderful Pastor Don Miller did her dedication and Piper did wonderfully.  Izzy was ecstatic to be able to go up on stage “just like daddy.”  Tim’s mom Diane and my youngest brother Josh & his wife Bethany were able to come and celebrate with us.  My mom was sick (thankfully she is getting better) so she and my dad didn’t make it.

Izzy singing

Izzy loves to sing and sings all the time. It is very difficult to get it on video though because she wants to see what I am doing..... she wanted to do it the other day so we gave it a shot and got 3 good songs! She knows over 100 songs and picks them up very easily. She saw Tim singing Hosanna in church on sunday and has been singing it all week. We were in Kerr Drug and she was singing it and a lady came up and told her she liked it and asked Izzy is she could sing along with her. Izzy said no. So thent he lady asked if Izzy could sing it again because it was so pretty and Izzy said- "No I'm all done, take a bow thank you very much!" I about busted out laughing.... where does she get this stuff?? Anyways- here are the videos... I love her sweet little voice!

Big girls

My girls are getting so big!  I have said it a million times but I need to say it again!  Izzy is a great big sister!  She loves Piper and is very helpful.  She sings to her, plays with her, shares with her, gives her the paci, defends her, encourages her, teaches her, tells me what Piper “needs” and so much more!!! I am so thankful that she is such a good big sister.  She frequently plays with her baby dolls and pretends they are Piper.  She is feeing her baby- the cutest part is she signs to her.  “Tell me baby, do you want more or all done, tell Izzy baby, more or all done?”  ADORABLE!!

Weekend in Wilmington

We went to Wilmington to my oldest brother Matt and his wife Emily and their cutie daughter Penelope this past weekend.  They were having a birthday party for her.  We had a great time and the girls had a great time together.  Penny just turned one so the three of them are pretty good stair steps :)

064Can you see Izzy’s excitement??074

They had a blow up water slide with a little pool at the bottom.  The water was pretty cold but it was HOTTTT outside.  Piper (our little water baby) loved it and Izzy liked it to- although she was not at all interested in the water slide part.

Penny was a little unsure what she was supposed to do with the cake but once Emily put her hands in it she knew what to do!

Izzy & Daddy are going on a father-daughter camping trip with our church in a couple weeks so we decided this was the perfect place for a trial run!  Izzy was super excited and had such a fun time.  I love that she loves to do fun stuff like that with Tim.  I had a great relationship with my Daddy (and still do) and it makes me so happy that they have it too!  He will be taking the camera on their trip so I will definitely be posting pics of that!!

Of course you can’t go to Wilmington without going to the beach so we went and had a great time!  It was Piper’s first beach trip and Izzy’s first one this year.  They both had a great time!!  We went out in the ocean and got blasted by some pretty big waves but both kids did great!  Tim made Izzy a sand castle and she enjoyed crashing it.  Piper ate about a pound of sand and loved every minute of it!!

Thanks so much for having us Matt & Emily!!!  We had a great time.  I am so glad our kiddos are close in age- it will be so much fun to see them grow up together :)

Loving life

We have been loving life recently!  We had settled into life as a family of four and it is our new normal :)  I love this picture of Piper.  Izzy dressed her up with her glasses, necklace and hat.  And of course Piper loved it because Izzy did it!020008 011 014  Izzy & Daddy after doing a princess craft.  It was in the $1 section at Target ( I am a fan) and Izzy picked it out and said she was going to do it with Daddy.  029 045 054

Never really thought of little people stuff being a good toy for a baby but Piper loves playing with it.  She loves holding all the stuff and people in her hands (and of course trying to eat it)- they are perfectly sized- small but not a choking hazard!  I bought this doll house at Weeruns a year ago and I just got it out last week.  Both girls love it!!

I want to hold you

What do you do when both kids are sick- the little one won't let you put her down and the big one keeps saying "Mommy I want to hold you"???? Well I put Piper in the Beco and Izzy on my shoulders. I had to get a picture :)
Thankfully both kids are better now ;)
