Send a kid to camp!!

I’ve been doing a bible study for the past 6 weeks in James.  I have loved this study but it has stepped on my toes for sure!  James talks a lot about loving your neighbor, serving others (especially widows and orphans) and living out your faith.  If you are looking for a way to do that you could send a kid to camp!

Caroline’s Promise is the organization I am going on a mission trip with coming up June 29-July 7th.  The week prior to that they are partnering with a local church to hold a summer camp for the kids in the community.  Right now only 6 kids are sponsored.

Fifty bucks is all it takes for a kid to get to experience a fun camp and the opportunity to learn about Jesus…… $50 for an eternal impact.  Will you sponsor a kiddo?  Can your small group or Sunday school group sponsor a kiddo?

Anderson Family Weekend

Last weekend my parents and brothers all came for a visit.  We had a great time visiting and no disasters like last time.  The girls loved having tons of attention from my parents, aunts and uncles- and had lots of fun playing with Penny.DSC_0004DSC_0008DSC_0013DSC_0022DSC_0033

Dan & Liza got here first- the girls had a lot of fun playing with them!DSC_0036

It was a fun filled weekend and I didn’t take enough pictures!  My dad and brothers went zip-lining while the kiddos napped and the girls got a pedicure (thanks hubby for staying with the kiddos!)  We went out to dinner Saturday night and had a great time!!  It all went by too quickly!  Can’t wait to get everyone together again!

It was also Mother’s Day weekend- the girls and Tim got me a really pretty tea set and a family stamp.  I love them both!!  I am so blessed to be Mommy to my two girls!

Adoption Update

The last time I gave an adoption update it was in January in my waiting post.  At that point we gave all control to God and we waiting for Him to lead us/drop something into our laps.  That is just what happened!

A close friend of mine has a close friend who runs an adoption consulting business.  Through a couple of phone calls we spoke with her and got more information.  We prayed about it and decided that God had opened this door and we would walk through.  We contacted a home-study agency,  met with our social worker and submitted all of our paperwork.  We also created a profile book that introduces our family to send to birth mothers.

On Wednesday May 2nd we got our official approved home study in the mail!!!  Four days later on Sunday May 6th we were matched with a birth mother.  She is more than we could have ever imagined!  We are so thankful for her and for her love of her unborn child.

I have a perm-a-smile on my faceOpen-mouthed smile  I can’t believe this is happening!

We would appreciate prayers for a smooth adoption process.  Pray that we would share the love of Jesus with everyone we come into contact with.  Pray for health and safety for the birth mother and for the baby.

We can’t wait to see God’s plan unfold!!  The due date is August 14th!!

Making strawberry jam…er… syrup :)

We decided to try to make strawberry jam with our fresh berries…. I looked up the directions for regular jam- and that was WAY too involved for us.  So we opted for freezer jam- who can mess that up??  Well…..

We started with the yummy berries and my cool little hulling tool

We followed the driections to the T and ended up with some YUMMY strawberry SYRUP Open-mouthed smile  Our jam did not set up- who knew that was an option??  At first I was a little sad- then we tried some on ice cream…… I’m not sad anymore!  It is soooo yummy!!  It is super sweet- just like these last two pics of my girls!
