Tweetsie!!!

20120824104606

On friday Tim took a much needed day off and we headed to Tweetsie Railroad!  We had a BLAST!  We met some another family there and spent the day hanging out, riding rides, eating yummy food and even seeing some shows!  We all loved it and were worn out by the time the park closed and we headed home.

One last train-ride before the park closed.  Piper was a little unsure as she waited for the “bandaids” (bandits).  But she ended up really liking it and kept reassuring us that it was all pretend Smile

We had an AWESOME day!  So thankful to be able to spend the day together and make so many memories!  Izzy was sad she couldn’t ride the Free Fall ride- I was glad I talked M into riding it with me- it was a lot of fun (I will have to get a picture of that!  Maybe next time Izzy will be tall enough!

Tea party with both girls

DSC_0002

I took both girls to a tea party for an early lunch today.  Next door to the tea room there is a great garden that is great for pictures.  It was bright outside so they didn’t want to look up at the camera but I did get a few good ones!

Yummy food for Izzy and I.  We had smoked salmon with cream cheese sandwiches, cheese and dried fruit, chai cookies, lemon tarts, coconut macaroons, fallen chocolate cake, and scones with clotted cream and strawberry sauce!

I brought Piper a PB & J on an English muffin and gummi’s (I figured it would be too hard to find things she could eat there).

Tim came and joined us at the end.  The girls liked showing him their fancy dresses, hair beads, and tea cups Smile

We had a lot of fun!

Fudge stripe S’mores!

DSC_0018

Realized I haven’t blogged much about Piper’s dairy allergy.  We bit the bullet and took her completely off dairy about 6 months ago.  She is doing SO much better!  Unlike most kids who have never had dairy she was well acquainted with sweets, chocolate, ice cream, and other yummy things.  I feel so bad for her when she can’t have a cupcake, or cookies that everyone else is having.  But recently I’ve made a realization.  Most knock-off brands don’t have milk.  I realize that is because they are made with cheaper chemicals, high fructose corn syrup, and other bad things but I am happy to be able to give my girl some desserts that don’t have “nilk in it.”  She is very good about asking before she eats something, telling babysitters or church workers that she can’t have goldfish or ice cream- but she misses being able to have desserts!  Anyways Food Lion brand fudge stripe cookies are dairy free so we used them for a s’mores night!  We all enjoyed them!!

Love being able to see her cute face covered in chocolate Smile

PS:  Other things I have found that don’t have milk in them- papa johns pizza crust, Food Lion brand cinnamon rolls, all Oreo’s (even chocolate covered ones), marshmallows, and lots of other things like suckers, popsicles, ect.

Marbles and a few random pics

We met my two sister-in-laws in Raleigh last week for some fun at the Marbles Children’s Museum.  It was awesome!  We will be going back for sure!  The first part we went to was a pretend play area.  Piper and Iz both enjoyed playing doctor with the babies.  They had to find the two brown babies of course Smile
