Family Day

Both girls LOVE “family day!”  That is any day we are all together.  It doesn’t matter what we do- just that we are all together hanging out.  Some days that looks like breakfast at Tex & Shirley’s,  grocery shopping and washing the van.  Other days we go and do fun things- it doesn’t seem to make a difference what we do- the girls are just happy to have “family day!!!!”  A few weeks ago we had some friends over for dinner and the girls played a little bit of WiiDSC_0002

Love the concentration!  This family day included friends which is an added bonus!!DSC_0003

This past weekend a local church was celebrating 25years and had a festival.  We went with the girls and had a lot of fun!  They had a little petting zoo….

First day of preschool 2012

DSC_0008

Yay!  Preschool has started back!  Izzy loves preschool and Piper was really excited for her very first day!  Both girls wanted beads in their hair Smile

Bye mom!  Piper was a little upset that she wasn’t going in a “big kid class.”  She is so used to being around older kids that she considers kids her age to be babies.  She went in without fussing about it though- I think she will have a blast!  Izzy ran to her classroom.  She loves preschool and is so happy to be going back!  My house is very quiet with both of them gone- hoping and praying for a baby to fill my spare time with soon!  In the meantime Tim has offered to make me a list of things to do if I get bored SmileLove my girls and hope they have a great year!!

My girls- a closer look at their personalities

DSC_0006

My oldest is growing up so quick.  She loves to sit back and relax, eat a popsicle and watch life happen.  She continues to be very laid back.  She gets her feelings hurt easily and wears her heart on her sleeve.  She has learned how to go under water and started swimming all by herself.  She loves encouraging words- she literally beams when you tell her you are proud of her.  She is also a physical touch girl- loves to snuggle and be “your girl".”  She loves to sit with a book and “read”, play doll house, and play just about any kind of pretend.  She enjoys her quiet time while Piper naps.  She practices writing and drawing on her notebook, plays with ponies, or dolls or littlest pet shop.  She frequently cleans her room for me and is so proud to show it to me when quiet time is over.  She loves alone time with both Tim and I and sometimes sneaks downstairs during quiet time to snuggle with us or do a craft.  She is a joy to have as a daughter!  When she gets out of hand she takes correction well- usually timeout or taking away whatever toy she is playing with does the trick.  She is quick to say “I’m sorry.”  She is very tenderhearted when someone is hurt- she rushes over, rubs your back or holds your hand and comforts you.  She is very protective over Piper.  She worries about her when she is near dangerous things or when she is getting into trouble.  She loves her sister a ton!!  She is excited for our new baby brother or sister- she says she will be the “big big sister”.  I love her a ton and it is crazy to me how much she is turning into a big girl from our little girl.

Piper is our little comedian.  She is always moving, always laughing, always getting into something.  She is easy going as long as things are going her way- but when it's time for nap, or bed, or you tell her she can’t do something she wants to do she lets you know she is not happy about it!  She has a lot of me in her.  She is spunky, “free-spirited” as Tim likes to say.  She loves to do anything Izzy is doing.  She loves looking at books, playing games, playing baby and mommy, playing with her baby dolls, and any kind of art.  She is still our baby girl but is growing up so quick!  At times she thinks she is 4 years old, and sometimes her attitude is 14years old- but she is still my baby.  She has recently potty-trained herself.  She told me one day “I think I want to be all done with diapers” and she pretty much was done after that!  She is also ready for our baby sister or brother to come home!  She practices taking care of baby dolls and if she is around a real baby she is so hands-on!  She wants to help, to hold, to feed and she wants to do it herself!  I love her independent attitude (most of the time).  She is in love with Papa (my dad) and talks about him most days.  She frequently tells me she is going to marry Papa when she gets big- makes me smile- I wanted to marry my daddy my whole childhood- he’s a good man!

Just wanted to give a quick snapshot of our girls- who they are, what they like and some of their little quirks.  I love being their momma!

2 hair pictures!  I’m still practicing lots of new styles and both girls have gotten to where they really love for me to fix their hair!  This is 3 cornrows on Izzy for dance class.
