Grandma & Grandpa’s summer visit 2013

My parents came for a visit last week.  We started off with a trip to city lake park with Grandpa while Grandma & Cassidy snuggled at home.  Grandpa rented a little boat and took the girls on a ride.  They had a blast!

Afterwards we went to the pool at the park.  We had a blast- no pics though.  Izzy was tall enough for the water slides and SHE LOVED IT!  She had no fear and wanted to keep doing the slides nonstop!

We came home and Grandma brought out a jewelry box craft!  The girls loved it!!

The next day we went for a morning swim!

Then more crafts!  The girls had a blast!  Cassidy enjoyed all the extra snuggles and rocking from Grandma……

We had a great visit!!

Happy half birthday Cassidy!!  I love this second picture!  She usually smiles with that cute little tongue out!  And she’s always moving.  I think she is going to talk with her hands… just like her big sisters

Cassidy is SO MUCH FUN!!  She started sitting at 5 months and is pretty solid now.  She loves to sit up and play with toys.  I think she likes it because she can see more of what is going on!

This is her favorite toy- it plays music and spins around!  She squeals at it and whacks it around!

We’ve done a few hairstyles but they always get messed up in the carseat- still fun to do though!

Cassidy has started trying some new foods.  She LOVES baby mum mums!

Cassidy is ADORED by her big sisters!  They continue to want to play with her all the time!  They are always wanting her to do the next thing- (crawl, talk ect.)  They love that she plays with them now!

Cassidy is a super flexible baby!  She goes with the flow and will nap pretty much anywhere.  If we are home she still naps in the swing.  She sleeps in her crib- usually only gets up to eat once in the night (a few times for paci most nights too). 

Overall she is super happy!  She has found her voice over the past few weeks.  Sometimes she startles herself with her shrieking   She is saying dadadadada and hey. 

WE LOVE LOVE LOVE her!!

Busy Enjoying summer!!

We have been having a great summer!  We love to stay busy.  That added to the fact that Cassidy naps in the computer room means I haven’t had much time to update the blog.  Hope to catch up over the next day or so!  We have been spending a lot of time at the pool- if it’s not raining- that’s usually where we are!  We’ve enjoyed having lots of friends come swim with us!

Cassidy is such a good sport at the pool!  For the most part it has been too cool due to the rain for her to get in…. although its been hot the past 2 weeks!  She hangs out in this cool contraption, in my lap, or sitting up on a towel watching the big kids!  She has been in some this week and really seems to like it!

I have this carrier I’ve worn her in the water a few times.  It is comfy but I can’t see her face…which is half the fun!

Piper arranged a haircut with a friend   She had been asking for about a month to get her hair cut short… I couldn’t do it----- she helped me take the plunge!  We got it trimmed a little more and we all love it!  It fits her little spunky personality well!

We’ve been having a lot of fun with Cassidy.  She is sitting up well and loves to smile, laugh and “yell” at us to get attention!

She is a big fan of Tim!

Piper had dropped her nap.  The girls are supposed to have separate quiet time…. usually it is not separate or quiet!  I found them huddled under these blankets playing the leap pad…. they had been under there awhile and were super sweaty!!  Since Piper isn’t napping we’ve been able to move her into Izzy’s room for sleeping.  THEY LOVE IT!!  Most nights it works…..

We went to Chic-fil-a for dress like a cow day!  Lots of fun!

Tim shaved his beard!!!!  He made a deal with Izzy that if she got her hair cut he would shave.  The girls have never seen him shaven…. they didn’t know what to think!!!

Izzy got her ears pierced!  She’s been asking for about a year but was always deterred when we told her it hurt.  A few months ago she decided she was ready- pain and all!  We decided to let her do it for Kindergarten!  She did AWESOME!!  She really loves them & has been doing a great job reminding me to clean them!

So there’s a little update on some of the fun summer stuff we’ve been doing!  I can’t believe it’s almost August!  I’m so thankful for all the fun and memories made with my family & friends!!
