Piper asks Jesus into her heart & first communion

Last week on the way to preschool the sun was really bright.  This sparked a conversation with the girls about heaven.  Here’s how it went:

Iz:Wow it is really bright.  It is gonna be really bright in heaven.  Cause Jesus is there and the streets are gold so its gonna be really bright.

P: Is Dora going to be in heaven

Me: If Dora has Jesus in her heart then she will be in heaven

P: She does!!!!

Iz: Do you have Jesus in your heart Piper?

P: Yep

Me: When did you ask Jesus into your heart Piper?

P: Oh I think I should do that right now!

So I asked her what it meant to have Jesus in her heart and she told me about Jesus dying on the cross and “He is risen!!”.  We then prayed a prayer together and she asked Jesus into her heart right there in her carseat on the way to preschool.

Fast forward to Sunday when Cassidy was being dedicated.  At the end of the service we had communion.  Tim got Piper in his lap and explained what communion was and she understood and wanted to take part.  She was very serious and paid very close attention to Pastor Don.  I snapped a quick picture to remember this day.  p communion

Right after I took this picture we were led in “I stand Amazed (How Marvelous)”  This is a very special song to me as it always reminds me of my grandmaw.  Every time I hear it I am reminded of her and can hear her singing it to me.  I rarely get through it dry eyed.  So through my tears I look over at my hubby who has his hands raised and my sweet girl with her hands raised too.  More tears!  I imagined my grandmaw looking down from heaven.  Oh how I miss her and oh how happy I knew this moment made her!

Cassidy 3 months old

DSC_0005

I can’t believe Cassidy is three months old already!!  Seems like we just got home a week or so ago!  We love her so much and it is so much fun to see her becoming more aware of her surroundings and interacting with us more.  She has recently found her hands and she always grabs her left fist and brings them both to her mouth to chew on Smile  DSC_0001

If I thought there was a novelty that was going to wear off with having a new baby sister I was wrong!  Both girls still love to play with Cassidy, hold her, and talk to her.DSC_0004DSC_0009

Cassidy still loves to sit on the couch but if I put a toy in her lap she uses her killer ab muscles to get closer to it and usually ends up laying on top of the toy.DSC_0014

Still not a huge fan of tummy time but if the girls or I am at eye level she will tolerate it more before flipping over.

Cassidy loves her bumbo!  We often call it her pooping seat because she almost always poops in it!  She loves to sit in it while we eat dinner or sit and watch the girls run aroundDSC_0029

She is giving us big smiles a lot now!  However when I pull out the camera it is harder to get one!DSC_0038

Cassidy is pretty good at going with our flow.  She still eats about every 3-4 hours during the day and usually is up about an hour after eating and then will fall asleep.  If she misses a nap she is usually happy to be held and go along with whatever we are doing.  She has always had dry skin and recently has been having eczema on her face under her chin and along her jaw.  I took dairy out of my diet to see if that would help.  It did seem to help for a few days and then she had more eczema patches come up.  I took her to the doctor who referred us to an allergist.  We are going tomorrow to see if the eczema is related to food allergies that she is being exposed to through breast milk.  Hoping that when we find the problem and eliminate it that her eczema will go away and she will start sleeping better at night.

Love love love this little girl!!

Cassidy’s Dedication Service

DSC_0101

Today we had Cassidy’s dedication service.  It is a service where we dedicate Cassidy to the Lord and state that we are going to raise her in the church and to know and love the Lord.  DSC_0103DSC_0111

So glad my dad and Tim’s mom were able to be here with us.  My mom is still in a lot of pain from her wrist surgery so she wasn’t able to come.

Our family with Pastor Don after the service.

Cassidy’s birth mom picked this verse for Cassidy which was read today at the service- Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

We are so honored to be Cassidy’s parents and to have her in our family.  We love her SO much and are so thankful for her life!
